STATE 318
DC Reverse Current Detected
Behaviors
Interruption of grid power feed operation. The inverter will monitor the DC input and attempt to resume operation once condtions are within acceptable parameters
Status Code Class 3
Class 3 status codes (state codes that start with a three, i.e., 3xx), may occur while feeding energy into the grid, but generally do not cause the process to be interrupted permanently.
The inverter temporarily disconnects automatically from the grid, the grid is then monitored as specified and the inverter attempts to resume feeding energy into the grid.
STATE 318 applies to:
Primo
Galvo
Symo
Solutions for this Error
Remedies
- Run latest firmware update
- Check DC cables at the inverter and ensure DC disconnects are in the ON position. Measure DC voltage, polarity, and isolation at the inverter clamps (Qualified Techs only).
- If this issue persists, the next steps include inspecting internal inverter components and their cabling by a trained Fronius Service Provider to further diagnose this specific issue. Defective components or the device itself may need to be replaced.
Additional Info
When inspecting the DC connection, pay special attention to polarity. The DC circuits should be isolated for testing. When polarity is reversed and connected to the same common bus, reverse polarity may not be apparent. This error can occur temporarily and return to normal operation after the inverter verifies the DC input conditions. If the DC input is correct and this error persists, a Fronius-trained technician may need to replace the PRIMOPS board, or the device itself.
